Thousands of ANCYL members march in KBY─── REFILWE GAESWE 09:53 Sat, 13 Feb 2016
Kimberley - Thousands ANCYL members in the Northern Cape marched for youth development and against racism in Kimberley yesterday (Friday).
Youth league members marched to the Office of the Premier and the DA’s provincial offices, respectively.
According to provincial secretary of the ANCYL, Neo Maneng, the march was an overwhelming success. He says a memorandum was submitted at the office of Premier Sylvia Lucas, demanding jobs and skills development for the youth.
“The other issue that we demanded from the provincial government, was the immediate appointment of the youth coordinators. We told the premier that we wanted an announcement next week that states that all provincial departments will appoint youth coordinators. It is only through those offices that the issue of young people will be prioritised within the province.”
Maneng further articulated that the DA must flush out racists within the party.
“We said to the DA that they must assist us in eradicating and dealing decisively with issues of racism.”
