DA to take up fire safety at school in NW Legislature─── 12:15 Tue, 01 Sep 2015

Potchefstroom - The DA in North West intends to write to the Provincial Education Department regarding its readiness to deal with fires at schools.
This follows the second fire to break out at a hostel in the province in just more than a week.
Last night the Jack Pauw Boys’ Hostel at Hoër Volkskool in Potchefstroom was badly damaged in a fire. No-one was injured.
This follows shortly after three girls at the North West Secondary School for the Deaf in Leeudoringstad died in a fire which broke out in their hostel. The girls, Katlego Diseko (16), Bulelwa Koni (18) and Emily Oageng (22), were all buried at the weekend.
The DA's Chris Hattingh says these fires are concerning.
