Bloemfontein - At least 200 taxis in the Free State are expected to have free wi-fi installed in August.
This, after the South African National Taxi Council launched the Wi-Taxi project yesterday which will see taxi commuters receiving free wi-fi in taxis and at taxi ranks.
Santaco CEO, Nkululeko Buthelezi, says this is all in an effort to improve service delivery to commuters and to attract more commuters to taxis and taxi ranks.
In the first phase 1500 taxis and 50 selected taxi ranks around the country will get equipped with wi-fi. Each commuter will receive 50MB free data a month, on 3G and 4G platforms.
