Bloemfontein - The family of Don Steenkamp Sr, who passed away last night at the age of 80, says they will forever be thankful for the pillar of strength he was to the entire family.
Steenkamp's grandson, Stefan Vermaak, spoke to OFM news today after his grandfather passed away in Mediclinic Kimberley following a stroke.
Steenkamp is the father and grandfather of Deon, Christel and Marthella Steenkamp who were murdered on their farm outside Griekwastad last year.
Vermaak says the entire Griekwastad community and family members will miss him.
Vermaak says funeral arrangements are being made, but they want to keep it private. He says the family was brought closer by the much publicized triple murder case and his grandfather's passing.
