Zeerust - Five people, including a farmer and his partner, have been arrested for alleged stock theft in Lehurutshe, Zeerust in the North West province.
Police spokesperson, Lesego Metsi says 37 year-old Martinus Jacobs and his 27 year-old partner Riana Wheeler were arrested while transporting goats in a panel van yesterday.
The two, from Nigel in Gauteng, were allegedly buying suspected stolen stock in the area.
They appeared briefly before the Lehurutshe Magistrates Court yesterday and have been remanded in custody.
The other three suspects allegedly sold the stock to Jacobs.
They are expected to appear before the same court today.
Police are appealing to any stock owners in and around the Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipal District area who have lost livestock recently, to contact the police to identify their stock.
