Motion of no confidence in Matlosana council issued─── DANE BEISHEIM 17:45 Tue, 26 Mar 2013

Klerksdorp - The DA-Caucus in Matlosana has issued a motion of no confidence in the town’s council, and also called for the resignation of the executive mayor Michael Khauoe and municipal manager ET Motsemme.
This follows the recent threat by Eskom that it would cut power to Klerksdorp and Jouberton if the municipality did not settle its R91.8-million debt to the energy supplier.
Earlier this month the municipality made significant part-payments on the arrear debt and reached a payment agreement to settle the balance.
