Coligny - North West police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after two people died in an accident yesterday at about 17:25.
The victims are believed to be members of a family that were travelling from Johannesburg to Mahikeng.
The accident happened 5km outside Coligny, direction Ventersdorp.
Police say the driver of a sedan failed to negotiate a gentle curve due to speeding and lost control of the car. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned twice before plunging over a fence.
The five occupants between the ages of nine and 54 are reported to be relatives. They were transported to Lichtenburg Provincial Hospital with serious injuries.
