Bloemfontein - A top economist has welcomed the opening of the new Makro supermarket in Bloemfontein. Residents of Bloemfontein and surrounds, will enjoy around 55 000 brands under one roof.
John Loos warns however that such developments need careful planning to avoid workers finding themselves unemployed when market conditions take a turn for the worst.
Meanwhile, Makro created 380 jobs once-off for today’s grand opening with over 300 more employed either permanent or on contract.
