“I am delighted to be back with Stinger GC. 2024 was a challenging year for me—I was playing with a wrist injury during the early part of the season and struggled to gain any momentum from there.”

South African golf star Branden Grace is delighted to continue representing Stinger GC in the LIV Golf series for at least the next two years.

The former South African Open and Alfred Dunhill Championship winner was facing the prospect of being left in golfing limbo after falling into the dreaded LIV Golf drop zone, largely due to a series of injuries throughout 2024.

However, the 36-year-old managed to retain his status in the series and has signed a new two-year deal to continue playing for the South African team, Stinger GC, which includes his compatriots Louis Oosthuizen, Dean Burmester, and Charl Schwartzel.

Grace expressed relief at being able to stay with the team after a challenging year.

“I am delighted to be back with Stinger GC. 2024 was a challenging year for me—I was playing with a wrist injury during the early part of the season and struggled to gain any momentum from there,” said the former Sunshine Tour Order of Merit winner.

“My form improved during the later stages of the campaign, and my game is tracking in the right direction. I feel confident that I can carry that through into 2025. Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, Dean Burmester, and I have a special bond, and it has been a great experience to be part of Stinger GC. The team has big plans for 2025 and beyond, and I am excited to be part of that."

Former Open Championship winner and Stinger GC captain Louis Oosthuizen expressed his excitement about Grace's return.

“We’re thrilled to have Branden back with Stinger GC,” said Oosthuizen. “He is an integral part of our team, both on and off the course. While 2024 was a tough year for him, we cannot overlook his consistent performances in the two previous seasons. His return was also supported by a strong business case.

“We are looking to grow the Stinger GC brand and our commercial presence in South Africa, and his profile and popularity in the country will help us achieve that.”

The team’s first assignment of the year will be the LIV Golf Riyadh event in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for February 6–8.
