“Obviously, I want to do well and impress where I can, so I can be a more regular in the squads and stuff like that going forward, so yeah, but really excited for the opportunity.”

The former Knights allrounder, Patrick Kruger, is excited and keen for the Proteas upcoming tour to the West Indies ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Kruger, who played for the Warriors last season has been included in the squad to tour the Caribbean for the series of three T20 Internationals.

It’s the first time that he has been called up to the national side and he sees it as a big opportunity.

Kruger, who is currently in Thailand, told OFM Sport that he wants to prove his worth.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity,” said Kruger.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for it and been working hard, so just happy that my hard work is playing off and I'm seeing results.

“Obviously, I want to do well and impress where I can, so I can be a more regular in the squads and stuff like that going forward, so yeah, but really excited for the opportunity.”

Kruger is the brother of the current Knights red-ball captain, Aubrey Swanepoel.

The squad will depart for the West Indies on 18 May and the dates of the fixtures are yet to be confirmed.
