The ITEC Knights coach, JP Triegaardt, has a lot to smile about before the 2023/24 domestic cricket season. The team managed to hold on to just six of their experienced players as they prepare to compete in Division 2 next season.
The two remaining Proteas in the team, Jacques Snyman and Gihahn Cloete, have been excelling with the bat for their respective clubs overseas.
In the last two weeks, Snyman, has smashed 427-runs in two games, with scorers of 158 and 269 for Greenmount Cricket Club in England.
Snyman told OFM Sport that it's great to find some preseason form with the willow.
“It's been nice to be in the runs for the last couple of games and I've been working really hard on my game to try and take it to the next level,” said the big hitting Snyman.
“I'm just so happy that I could get the runs to back up the hard work.
“I see that Gihahn has been scoring runs as well and we all know that he is a class player. He showed that last season for the Knights.
“Hopefully the two of us can lay good foundations for the Knights and help the team get back into Division 1.”
Cloete is his turn as scored 156, 150 not and 139 not out in his last three innings for Glendermott Cricket Club in Northern Ireland.
