North West police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, confirmed the incident to OFM News and said police divers are unable to dive into the water due to many illegal fishing nets, as they may be caught up by the nets.
Myburgh said a case will be opened once divers have recovered the body, at this stage police divers are monitoring the situation to see if the body can surface.

The man's father has been at the dam since Sunday, hoping that police may be able to recover the body of his son.
"The situation with the dam is so dangerous due to illegal nets, and water grass that may pull one under the water, it is suspected that the dam was previously used as a dumping site," said Myburgh.
The dam is situated close to households in the area, thus making it easy for residents to dump debris inside the water.
Myburgh told OFM News that investigations will follow once the body is recovered.
