Ruling party weighs in on Maselspoort video─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 11:54 Tue, 27 Dec 2022
The African National Congress (ANC) in Mangaung is shocked and outraged by the alleged racist attack on young black boys on Christmas Day at Maselspoort, a resort complex located 23 km west of Bloemfontein.
According to a media statement by the party, the ANC in the region views the incident as particularly unfortunate and deserving of unambiguous condemnation.
The statement further reveals that many people have a thorough understanding of the destructive impact of racism.
Due to the abovementioned reason, the ANC called on law enforcement to embark on a full-scale investigation of the matter and arrest all the racists involved.

Meanwhile, the Patriotic Alliance in the Free State would like to condemn the racially-motivated, violent incident at the resort.
“These atrocious and inexcusable acts against black South Africans are derailing the gains we have made as a country. These incidents are dehumanising, discriminatory and humiliating,” adds the media statement.
The MEC of the Department of Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Destea) has since called an urgent meeting with the management of Maselspoort resort.
The urgent meeting comes after a video went viral on Christmas Day with allegations that there is a swimming pool at the resort reserved for white people only.
MEC Makalo Mohale says the meeting with the management is to gather all the facts. He is also hoping to get in touch with the victims.
The video in question shows two black teenage boys in a fight with a number of older white men.
The person who posted the video makes the allegations in the caption that her brothers (the two black teenage boys) were attacked because they are apparently not allowed in the swimming pool as it is reserved for white people.
Mohale says Destea will follow up with the management of the South African Police Service (SAPS) on the case to ensure that the victims' concerns are attended to.
“I strongly condemn these senseless acts of racism at all costs. This unwanted behaviour should never be entertained in whatever form, but to be treated as a matter of urgency,” he adds.
