Free State police are probing the killing of a Centlec employee, who was allegedly murdered at his home in Bloemfontein, on Friday evening, 2 September 2022.

Police provincial spokesperson, Thabo Covane, says according to reports received by police, David Khanda (50) arrived at his home in Cuban Street in Pine Heaven, Bloemfontein at about 21:30 and parked the vehicle.

His family members then heard gunshots from outside and rushed out to see what was happening. They found Khanda lying on the ground with several gun wounds and immediately called police and paramedics to the scene.

Covane says Khanda was declared dead on the scene.

"A case of murder was opened at Bloemspruit Police Station. Any member of the public, who might have information that can help the police in the investigation of the case, or lead to the arrest of the suspects, can be submitted anonymously and will be treated with confidentiality," adds Covane.

Persons who can assist in the investigation are requested to contact Constable Sechaba Tsholo at 082 8547 532. Alternatively the information can be submitted on MySAPS App or call the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
