Centlec CEO to oppose application in Free State High Court─── LUCKY NKUYANE 13:23 Fri, 22 Jul 2022
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bloemfontein-based Mangaung Metro Municipality’s power entity, Centlec, intends to oppose an application made to High Court, seeking to declare him as a delinquent.
According to Centlec's spokesperson, Lelele Mamatu, its CEO, Malefana Sebokoto, will contest the merits of the application made by the ousted Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Hlonelwa Nkomo, at the Free State High Court. He says the local power utility has noted the court application.
Nkomo, in her damming court affidavit, placed on record allegations that there are no signed minutes of a board meeting showing that Sebokoto was employed as such and further alleges that Sebokoto abused his powers. Mamatu further indicate that Nkomo, as a former employee, was successfully interdicted from accessing and entering any of Centlec’s premises.

He says she was further interdicted to not resume any of the functions of the Chief Financial Officer and/or passing herself off as the current CFO, or any other contracted officer or employee of Centlec.
"Papers filed by Nkomo emanates from her disciplinary process to declare the CEO of Centlec delinquent,” Mamatu adds.
