Challenges at Free State police station discussed─── 12:57 Fri, 08 Jul 2022

Police and residents at the Odendaalsrus Police Station in the Free State are on Friday expressing the challenges they face daily to the MEC of Police, Roads and Transport.
A police officer from the station stated to MEC William Bulwane that the toilets at the station do not work, they have to walk or take the one police vehicle they have at the station to go to the garage to use the restroom.
Amongst other issues at this station, that has been been closed down previously, are security measures that Bulwane will have to find a to resolve.
Bulwane and his team are on Friday at the police station for an oversight visit after complaints about the state the station is in. It has been stated that the station is also without a generator at the moment. Some of the rooms within the station are without ceilings. The police officers are pleading with Bulwane to find a solution for the challenges they have mentioned. Seems detainees have to be taken to the Kutloanong Police Station, which is also not in a good state.

Bulwane's visit comes a week after the Department of Labour closed down the station, as the conditions at the station deteriorated further after the renovation of the building came to a standstill.
