Bfn's Pelonomi maternity ward flooded - PHOTOS─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:51 Wed, 09 Feb 2022
Operations at the maternity ward of the Pelonomi Tertiary Hospital in Bloemfontein, in the Free State, have been negatively affected after it was flooded, and not due to rain.
A source close to the operations confirms to OFM News that this has badly affected the operations and has now forced patients to be placed across the corridors. It's understood that there are no construction or maintenance workers on the scene yet to try and deal with the leaking pipes. A video shared with OFM News shows the water leaking from the roof of the hospital and flooding the maternity ward.
This video also shows workers who attempt to stop the excessive flooding. OFM News previously reported about the sewage spillages in the parking lot of the hospital's mortuary, seemingly not attended to.

The Free State Department of Health is yet to comment on OFM News' inquiry about the incident. The leaking is just one of many incidents at the hospital.
The video shows water gushing down in at least five buckets. This video also captures moments where workers went as far as using patients' bedsheets to try and stop the water from leaking to other areas in the hospital.
This is a developing story.
