Springbok World Cup jersey launched─── 10:14 Fri, 05 Jun 2015
The 2015 Rugby World Cup in England went into overdrive for the Springboks yesterday with the team launching their jersey for the showpiece.
With 105 days to go until kick-off, rugby’s who’s who, which included living legends such as Rob Louw, gathered in Cape Town last night for their official unveiling of the technologically advanced ASICS jersey.
A selected group of Springboks, which included captain Jean de Villiers, Tendai “Beast” Mtatawira and lock Eben Etzebeth, had been working closely with designers and engineers in Kolbe, Japan to tailor the jersey to suit their exact needs.
With the anticipation growing ahead of Heyneke Meyer's first team announcement for the 2015 international season, Etzebeth told OFM Sport that it’s still important to earn the jersey.
The Springboks' first test this season is on 18 July when they will be tackling the Wallabies in Brisbane, while they will face Japan on 19 September in their World Cup opener in Brighton.
