Bloemfontein - The process of renaming certain streets and buildings in the city of Bloemfontein has formally started by way of public hearings, where members of the public are invited to share their views. Some of the proposed name changes include Charlotte Maxeke, Raymond Mhlaba and Kenneth Kaunda for Maitland Street, Andries Pretorius and Eeufees Roads respectively. Mangaung metro councilor Zolile Mancotywa says the ANC supports the proposed name changes. Meanwhile DA councilor in the metro, David van Vuuren says it is essential that proper process be followed.
The hearings continue at Bloemfontein City Hall today.
