NWU will engage with students over managerial restructuring: Potch Rector─── DANE BEISHEIM 17:42 Tue, 17 Mar 2015
Potchefstroom - Students worried over the proposed managerial restructuring of the North West University should take solace in the fact that the university’s top brass will consistently communicate any decisions to them in a timely fashion.
This is according to Potchefstroom rector Herman van Schalkwyk, who addressed students on campus this afternoon.
The university is currently looking into an aligned management model. Such a model would, amongst other things, entail that there be only one dean per faculty across all three campuses of the university.
Other changes would include the dissolving of the three campuses’ student councils into one council, and having one registrar to handle registrations of all students.
Van Schalkwyk concluded by saying that a final decision on the matter would only be taken in June.
