BREAKING: Potchefstroom hospital - ‘it isn't Ebola’ | News Article

Potcefstroom - The Department of Health in North West has ruled out the possibility that a 72-year-old man, who was admitted to the Potchefstroom Hospital with high fever yesterday, has Ebola.

Spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane, says a health report shows that the man, admitted to the casualty ward, could not have been infected with the Ebola virus as he is from a local farming community and has not travelled to any African countries.

Lekgethwane says the man will receive further treatment at the Tshepong Hospital Complex in Klerksdorp which has been identified as a referral hospital for Ebola in North West and offers efficient quarantine facilities. Lekgethwane meanwhile said the casualty ward, which was placed under quarantine as a precautionary measure, is no longer under quarantine.

The situation at the hospital is back to normal.
