Bloemfontein - The case against a police officer accused of assaulting two brothers at a Bloemfontein fuel station in March has been postponed again.
Attorney Paolo Georgi says the case against Christoffel Neuhoff was postponed to 15 July because the decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions was not available yet.
Neuhoff, a sergeant with the Boipatong Crime Prevention Unit in Gauteng, is accused of assaulting Neil Sonnekus and his brother Eben at a fuel station convenience store in Langenhoven Park in the early hours of 2 March. He is currently out on R500 bail.
The case was referred to the DPP for a decision on whether to prosecute because Neuhoff is a police officer.
An official at the office of the DPP did earlier tell OFM News a decision has been made but said could not provide further details because this must first be made known in the courts.
