Acclaimed South African artist Carrol Boyes has died following a short illness.
Boyes was the founder, creator and CEO of The Carrol Boyes retailer in Cape Town.
The company confirmed the news of her death in a statement released on Thursday, saying: "South Africa mourns the death of Iconic Artist and Designer, Carrol Boyes."
"We are saddened by the loss of Carrol, who passed away last night after a brief illness."
She founded her company in 1991 and her products were available in over 30 other countries around the world.
