Downs extend lead, FS Stars into top 4─── ADRIAN BOTHA 14:26 Mon, 18 Dec 2017
Mamelodi Sundowns have opened up a six-point lead at the top of the Premier Soccer League log after they defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 4-1 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
A sixth win from seven unbeaten matches sees the Brazilians move to 28 points at the top, which is six points clear of second-placed Kaizer Chiefs.
Bloemfontein Celtic have in their turn surrendered their log position and drop to 8th on 19 points behind Chippa United after that 4-1 drubbing at the hands of the Buccaneers.
Celtic will, however, have a chance to make amends as they play their final match of 2017 this Wednesday against SuperSport United.
Free State Stars in their turn have continued to impress this season as a 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates at Goble Park in Bethlehem catapulted Luc Eymael's chargers into the 4th spot on the log.
