The death toll in the Boksburg explosion has risen to 34.
This was confirmed by the Department of Health in Gauteng which is hosting a memorial service for bereaved families on Friday.
Nine of the deceased were staff members at the nearby Tambo Memorial hospital.
The tragedy unfolded on Christmas Eve when a truck carrying gas got stuck in a low bridge before exploding.
The Department released the names of the deceased but said that it was not conclusive as verifications are ongoing among different agencies.
It says there is a possibility that erroneous inclusions or omissions might have been made including incorrect spelling of names and ages.
