Public sector stay-away to impact government departments─── 05:30 Tue, 08 Nov 2022
Expect disruptions at car licencing offices and border posts on Thursday.
Those are some of the services that will be affected when government workers belonging to the Public Servants Association embark on a one-day stay-away on Thursday.
Wage talks between the public sector unions and the government remain deadlocked.
Last week, the unions Denosa, Nehawu, Popcru and Hospersa issued strike certificates.
But they are yet to notify the government of their plans.
Workers have rejected the government's 3% wage increase and have also called for a R1000 monthly gratuity payment to continue beyond March next year.
The Public Servants Association, which started lunchtime pickets last week, says Thursday's stay-away will impact a number of government departments.
