A bus transporting 100 pupils overturned when the driver swerved to avoid a crash on the R40 in Mpumalanga on Friday.
The pupils were travelling from Hazyview to White River when the bus overturned.
A spokesperson for the provincial Department of Transport, Moeti Mmusi, says the driver claims she was trying to avoid a crash in the moments before the crash.
"It had over 100 hundred learners. Luckily none of them passed on, they just sustained injuries.
“We are advising motorists travelling from Hazyview to Mbombela and White River to use the R38 road that goes through Masoyi in order to reach their destinations,” said Mmusi on Friday.
