#Covid19: Victoria Falls land border reopened─── 12:32 Thu, 29 Jul 2021
Tourists can once again enjoy the magnificent sight that is Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
The government has opened the land border there, as well as the Kazungula land border to promote tourism.
The industry has taken a hard knock under the country’s COVID-19 lockdowns, with all land borders closed for most of the year.
The Zimbabwean government says the decision to reopen Victoria Falls is in response to the call by the tourism industry to allow normal activities to resume under strict health protocols.
The adjacent Kazungula land border post with Botswana has also been opened, with the majority of visitors being vaccinated, tourists but the major Beitbridge border post and all others in the country remain firmly shut.
The government says over 70-percent of Victoria Falls’ population has been vaccinated.
