Achmat Dangor dies at 71─── 06:41 Mon, 07 Sep 2020
Renowned South African author and activist Achmat Dangor has died aged 71.
The former CEO of the Nelson Mandela Foundation is also ANC Deputy Secretary-General Jessie Duarte's brother.
The ANC has sent its heartfelt condolences to the Dangor family.
In the 1970's he formed Black Thoughts along with other writers in opposition to the Bantu Education system.
He was also one of the founding members of the Congress of South African Writers and remained active in the cultural and development sectors.
