The Bulls will be out for revenge this week when they take on Franco Smith’s Glasgow Warriors in Scotland in the United Rugby Championship (URC).

Almost a year ago, the Warriors mounted a comeback to beat the Bulls 40–34 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, clinching the URC title in a dramatic final.

But this past weekend, the Bulls pulled off a massive result by stunning Munster 16–13 in Limerick, becoming the first South African side to win at the iconic Thomond Park — and in the process, claiming an “Irish Grand Slam” after victories over all four Irish provinces this season.

That win in Ireland has reignited the Bulls' belief that they can take on and beat the best. They’ll now head to Scotland, determined to end their gruelling four-week European tour on a high.

Bulls coach Jake White says confidence is sky-high in the squad, and no extra motivation is needed this week.

“I’m going to tell you something – nothing that happened today would have changed the importance of next week’s game,” White said after the historic win.

“I can tell you that after the 2024 final, everyone wrote ‘25 April 2025’ on the wall because we lost that final.

“We always knew that the next time we faced Glasgow would be our chance to put things right – to make sure we played as well as we possibly could, because we missed out on that title.

“So yes, it’s great to take momentum into the match, and it’s great to have this positive energy, but I can promise you – from the first day of pre-season, the 25th of April has been the game we’ve been building towards.”

White added that after the disappointment of losing to Edinburgh in the quarter-finals of the EPCR Challenge Cup, beating Munster was crucial to regaining confidence before facing Smith’s charges.

“What we couldn’t afford was to put in a poor performance today and then go into next week off the back of losses to both Edinburgh and Munster.

“So from a momentum point of view, from a confidence point of view, and from a log position point of view, we’re obviously very, very happy.”

Friday night’s clash at Scotstoun Stadium kicks off at 20:35.
