Central South Africa’s leading commercial radio station was nominated in the Community Project and Promotions/Stunt categories. The winners were announced at the prestigious awards ceremony in Johannesburg on 30 November 2024.

The Telkom Radio Awards honour and recognise exceptional and innovative excellence in the South African radio industry. OFM’s dedication to not only excellence in the craft, but also our loyal listeners was demonstrated in the entries.

In the Community Project category OFM’s PinkTober and Winter Drive campaigns were selected finalists. The latter invited listeners, clients, and stakeholders to come and play their part for charity during the popular Shoprite Checkers OFM Chip 4 Charity golf days and Boeries 4 Blankets fundraiser, which collected R500 000, through an aligned winter drive to change lives.

In the Promotions/Stunt category, one of the broadcasting highlights of 2024 saw The Good Morning Breakfast broadcast from three different locations in the Free State, Northern Cape and North West simultaneously to celebrate the start of the new school year with the OFM Cool Schools show.

"This award crowns the massive effort that everyone in Central South Africa put into making the OFM Winter Drive a huge success," says Tim Thabethe, OFM Programme Manager.

OFM ontvang toekenning vir beste gemeenskapsprojek

OFM, die klank van jou lewe se Winter Drive-veldtog het ’n gesogte Telkom Radio-toekenning vir die beste gemeenskapsprojek in die kommersiële kategorie ontvang.

Sentraal-Suid-Afrika se voorste kommersiële radiostasie is genomineer in die kategorieë Gemeenskapsprojek en Promosies/Stunt. Die wenners is op 30 November 2024 tydens die gesogte prysuitdeling in Johannesburg aangekondig.

Die Telkom Radio-toekennings vereer en erken uitsonderlike en innoverende uitnemendheid in die Suid-Afrikaanse radiobedryf. OFM se toewyding aan, nie net uitnemendheid in die kuns van uitsaai nie, maar ook aan ons lojale luisteraars is in die inskrywings gedemonstreer.

In die Gemeenskapsprojek-kategorie is OFM se PinkTober- en Winter Drive-veldtogte as finaliste gekies. Laasgenoemde het behels dat luisteraars, kliënte en belanghebbendes saamspan om hul rol vir liefdadigheid te speel tydens die gewilde Shoprite Checkers OFM Chip 4 Charity-gholfdae en Boeries 4 Blankets-fondsinsameling, wat R500 000 ingesamel het om lewens te verander.

In die Promotions/Stunt-kategorie het een van die uitsaaihoogtepunte van 2024 gesien dat die Good Morning Breakfast gelyktydig vanaf drie verskillende plekke in die Vrystaat, Noord-Kaap en Noordwes uitgesaai het om die begin van die nuwe skooljaar te vier met die OFM Cool Schools-program.

“Hierdie toekenning span die kroon op ’n massiewe poging deur almal in Sentraal-Suid-Afrika om van die OFM Winter Drive ’n reuse sukses te maak,” sê Tim Thabethe, OFM-programbestuurder.

“Ons dra hierdie toekenning op aan ons luisteraars, wat ons nie net met hierdie veldtogte ondersteun het nie, maar ook ons passie deel om mense se lewens te verander. Dankie Sentraal Suid-Afrika!” sê OFM Verkoops- en Bemarkingsbestuurder Anchen Lintvelt.

Volgens OFM Handelsmerkbestuurder, Bianca Smit, is dit ’n trotse oomblik vir die span en werp die kollig op harde werk en ware passie vir radio. “Hierdie toekenning inspireer ’n hernieude verbintenis om aan te hou met selfs meer kreatiewe innovasies vir ons gewaardeerde luisteraars.”

OFM-inhoudbestuurder, Elzette Boucher-Krüger, sê OFM se luisteraars neem werklik eienaarskap van veldtogte. “Hulle is keer op keer op daar om mekaar te ondersteun. Dit is werklik verstommend om te sien hoe hierdie gemeenskap saamtrek rondom die ‘burgerskap’ wat ons vir hulle as ‘Sentraal-Suid-Afrikaners’ geskep het.”

“Dit is lonend om deur die bedryf erken te word vir die werk wat hierdie wonderlike radiostasie in Sentraal-Suid-Afrika doen. OFM sal voortgaan om te innoveer en die grense van kreatiwiteit en gemeenskapsbetrokkenheid te verskuif,” sê Central Media Group se uitvoerende hoof, Nick Efstathiou.
