China has won the first gold medals at the 2024 Olympics Games in Paris which officially got underway on Friday with the traditional opening ceremony.

On Saturday morning, China claimed the gold medal in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle competition. Lihao Sheng and Yuting Huang beat the Korean duo of Jihyeon Keum and Hajun Park 16-12 for the gold medal. Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev of Kazakhstan, dominated Maximilian Ulbrich and Anna Janssen of Germany 17-5 to win the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, shortly after, China earned a second gold medal in the women's synchronised 3m springboard. Yani Chang and Yiwen Chen won the gold with 337.68 points. The USA duo of Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook took this silver with 314.64 points.
Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen won Great Britain’s first medal at the Games by taking the Bronze with 302.28 points.
