Free State Crinums - Crinums

“We are super-excited for the final - we really are looking forward to go out there and just play a good netball,”

The Free State Crinums are locked and loaded ahead of their big Telkom Netball League final against the Gauteng Jaguars in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.

The Crinums have had an outstanding tournament however in their two previous games against the Jaguars they drew and suffered a defeat.

The team from Bloemfontein will be targeting just a fourth time, but they have had a long trophy drought after winning the first three tournaments.

The Protea, Refiloe Nketsa, told OFM Sport that they will stick to their DNA on court.

“We are super-excited for the final - we really are looking forward to go out there and just play a good netball,” said Nketsa.

“We understand that it won't be an easy one. It's never an easy game against Jaguars and that's what makes it so honourable to play against them and represent Free State and our families as well.

“So, the game plan is just to give it our all till the last second - we're going to be playing for each other.”

The Free State’s legendary captain, Karla Pretorius, in turn told OFM Sport that they are dialled in for the final and they want to ensure they go all the way.

“It's going to be a big clash coming up against them and that is always expected," said Pretorius.

“Even though looking back at the previous two encounters we've drew and we did lose, but we've learned a lot from that and we feel like we've really grown as a team since then.

“So there's a big focus on ourselves, but we're really looking forward to this opportunity and we really want to make sure that we go all the way.”

Wednesday night’s final at the Ellis Park Arena gets underway at 18:00.
