Tayler Scott, who is South African-born, looks like he has cracked the big time in the United States after making his debut for the Seattle Mariners in Major League Baseball (MLB).
The game took place in Anaheim, California, against the Los Angeles Angels over the weekend.
Scott is following in the footsteps of another South African Gift Ngoepe who played in 41 games for the Pirates, before moving to the Blue Jays.
But Tayler became the first South African pitcher to appear in an MLB game on Saturday (Sunday morning SA time).
The 27-year-old Johannesburg native made his debut during the fourth innings but his team lost 12-3 to the Angels.
