Traffic to enhance Mangaung operations─── 16:03 Mon, 05 Jul 2021
After realising that Mangaung residents are neither paying their fines nor appearing in court, the Traffic Division has organised to roll out a traffic management system that is aimed at enhancing operations.
According to a media statement released by the Mangaung Metro Municipality, this is a way of reclaiming the programme meant to instil a culture of paying traffic fines issued at roadblocks, of executing warrants of arrests, and of paying speeding fines or fines for skipping red traffic lights in the city.
The campaign is set to start on Monday 5 July 2021 between Zastron Street and Markgraaff Street. The acting Executive Mayor, Councillor Molefi Morake, is expected to launch the programme together with councillor Patrick Monyakoane. Motorists with outstanding tickets and warrants of arrests are encouraged to deal with their matters.
This programme is created to encourage motorists to comply with the rules and regulations of the road at all times in creating a safe environment for all road users.
