In August Mid-Morning Magic's Yolanda Maartens had the wonderful opportunity - while planning Childhood Cancer Month - to record an inspirational piece with young Tshwari Mooketsi from Bloemfontein who at the time was fighting his cancer bravely.

"What touched me most was Tshwari's gratitude towards Dr. Jan du Plessis, who he respected, as well as his love for his mom who carried him through his treatment," Yolanda shares. 

On the morning of 7 September, during Childhood Cancer month, Tshwari, unfortunately, lost his fight against cancer. Next week (7 Oct) would have been his 13th birthday. 

With permission from his mom and doctor, we bring tribute to Tshwari whose words will inspire anyone (young or old) fighting cancer. May he rest in peace and remind us that life is a gift, we need to seize each day.
