NW’s McGluwa a seasoned politician - DA─── 16:33 Thu, 20 Sep 2018
The announcement of the North West DA’s provincial leader, Joe McGluwa, as the premier candidate for the upcoming National Election next year is to ensure that corruption is a thing of the past.
This according to National DA leader Mmusi Maimane’s spokesperson, Portia Adams.
Adams says McGluwa is a seasoned politician who has vast experience of more than 30 years that has been empowered by his postgraduate diploma in Public Administration from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS). Adams says McGluwa has been rampant and relentless on corruption in the province.
"More than that, I think it is important to note that he stopped the likes of former premier Supra Mahumapelo from procuring his own private jet and also from erecting the statue of former president Jacob Zuma,” says Adams.
Adams says McGluwa is ready to bring about change in the political landscape of the North West province. She says no-one can understand the scope of the politics in the province more than him.
She adds that with his knowledge about the extent of corruption within the various departments in the province, he fits well in the position.
Earlier this year the Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, was tasked with leading the Inter-Ministerial Task Team (IMTT) in assessing the state of governance in the North West.
Following the assessment of the provincial government, certain departments in the province were put under the administration by the national government after the cabinet agreed that the province “cannot or does not fulfill an executive obligation”.
