Mangaung Mayor speaks about his term─── 07:15 Wed, 22 Jun 2016
Bloemfontein - In what is expected as one of his last official speeches, Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor, Thabo Manyoni, praised his officials for what they did for the community.
He addressed community members on Tuesday at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein, presenting his End of Term Report. The event was also screened live to venues in Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu.
The Free State MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), Olly Mlamleli, was announced by the ANC as the party’s mayoral candidate for the metro, effectively ousting Manyoni. He said his message was about unity.
"They must first understand that they were blessed to have people who could serve them very well, and I hope they will support the incumbent after elections who will come in there. And then they will be able to work with the incumbent to make Mangaung a better place" he said.
