Twin babies kidnapped in US, one baby found─── 17:58 Thu, 22 Dec 2022
A desperate search is underway for a 5-month-old baby who was kidnapped with his twin brother in the US state of Ohio.
Five-month-year old Kason Thomas remains missing after he and his twin brother were abducted in Columbus, Ohio on Monday night.
According to USA Today, the baby's twin brother, Kyair, was found in a car seat early Tuesday in the parking lot of Dayton International Airport. The police have identified 24-year-old Nalah T. Jackson, a homeless woman, as the prime suspect.
The twins were left in a running car while their mother, Wilhelmina Barnett, picked up a food order from a restaurant. When she turned around, police said, the car with her children was gone.
Columbus police have urged Jackson to return Kason safely.
The sad facts unfolded Monday night, when the babies' mother rushed to pick up an order at a pizza restaurant. Barnett left the engine running and Jackson took advantage of that unguarded moment to strike. According to staff, she was just leaving the restaurant when Barnett hurried in.
The latter immediately informed the police. "Someone stole my car and my babies are still in it. I was only gone for a while to get a pizza," it sounds in the emergency call.
Jackson lives on the street and has a criminal record. Last year, she was jailed for 13 days for dropping her own baby down a flight of stairs. Police combed more than ten addresses where Jackson could be hiding, but in vain. A visit to three homeless camps also yielded nothing.
A police spokesperson addressed the kidnapper personally. "Nalah Jackson, please let Kason Thomas return. You have already proven with Kyair that you can do the right thing. Just drop Kason somewhere safe now."
