“I will go home, soak in this victory and definitely enjoy the birth of my first child. I still love competing and my priorities here will change very soon. My new son and daughter will now be the main priority along with my wife.”

The world number one, Scottie Scheffler, of the USA has won the Masters at Augusta for a second time in his career.

On Sunday, Scheffler carded a final round of four-under-par 68 to close his major on 11-under-par and a comfortable four-stroke victory.

Scheffler said winning the famous green jacket definitely brough emotions, and will he still loves competing, his priorities will be changing soon.

“I'm definitely not going to intentionally take my eye off the ball,” said Scheffler, who hinted he would quit during the final round if his wife went into labour.

“I will go home, soak in this victory and definitely enjoy the birth of my first child. But, with that said, I still love competing and my priorities here will change very soon.

“My new son and daughter will now be the main priority along with my wife, so golf will now probably be fourth in line.

“I still love competing so I won't take my eye off the ball any time soon, that's for sure.”

Ludvig Aberg of Sweden finished as the runner-up on seven-under, while the two-time Nedbank Golf Challenge winner, Tommy Fleetwood, and reigning champion at Sun City, Max Homa, finished in a share of third on four-under.

Erik van Rooyen, who was the only South African to make the cut, finished his Masters campaign on 13-over-par for a tie of 55th.
