Branden Grace - Gallo

The defending Nedbank Golf Challenge champion, Branden Grace, has become the latest player to confirm that he will be teeing it up at Sun City later this year.

Last year Grace became the first South African since Trevor Immelman in 2007 to win the Million Dollar at the Gary Player County Club.

Grace, who is at Carnoustie in Scotland for 147th Open Championship confirmed that he will be joining Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia at Africa’s Major.

Earlier in the year the four-time major winner, McIlroy, of Northern Ireland, and the 2017 Masters champion at Augusta, Garcia, of Spain confirmed that they will be teeing it up in the Pilansberg.

“I can confirm that I will be return to Sun City to defend my title later this year,” said Grace who will be targeting his first-ever major title this week.

“For us it so great to return to South Africa and play in front of the home fans, they really make it worthwhile.

“This year it is going to be a great week, there are some many great players coming out to play.

“The fans must come out and bring the families with for what will be a great week.

“Hopefully we can have another South African winner this year.”

Last year, Grace, had to settle for a tie of sixth at Open which was played at Royal Birkdale. In 2015 Grace finished in third at the PGA Championship at Whistle Straights, and settle for a share for 4th at the US Open which was played at Chambers Bay.

The 2018 Nedbank Golf Challenge will be played from 8 to 11 November.
