Protea slump not mental - Duminy─── ADRIAN BOTHA 09:02 Mon, 19 Feb 2018
A torrid limited overs campaign for the Proteas continued on Sunday with a 28-run loss to India in the first of 3 T20 internationals at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, the Proteas struggled to keep the Indian batsman at bay as they raced to 203 runs in their 20 overs.
It was, however, another batting collapse for the home side as they were restricted to 175/9 in their 20 overs.
JP Duminy in his turn believes this slump is not mental, rather just a matter of execution.
The skipper says: "I honestly do not believe that we are dropping our heads or that our body language is bad, I honestly believe we were pretty good in the field."
"In professional sport you have to find a way to get back up, we stuck to our plan in terms of what we were trying to do, it come down to execution," he added.
The Proteas who now trail India 1-0 in the 3 match T20 series next face Virat Kohli and his side on Wednesday for the 2nd T20 international to be played in Centurion.
