At least ten people have been confirmed dead following an accident between a bus and a truck outside Reddersburg on the N6.
The bus was travelling from Gauteng to Eastern Cape Idutywa (Butterworth) with 33 passengers on board.
According to Sipho Towa, Free State Emergency Communications Manager, some bodies remain trapped inside the truck and the bus, which collided on Wednesday morning (5/2). Emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 03:50.

Twenty-three passengers have been reported to be slightly injured, with seven in critical condition and receiving medical attention. Authorities are currently on the scene, with the possibility of more fatalities.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, as the road is currently closed. Towa stated that traffic from Reddersburg has been diverted to the R717 towards Edenburg, then the N1 to Springfontein (69.5 km). From there, drivers should take the R715 to Smithfield (103 km) and return to the N6.
From Smithfield, motorists are advised to take the R715 to Springfontein, then the N1 to Bloemfontein (140 km).
