A search is underway for a patient that went missing from the University Academic Hospital Annex at the National District Hospital in Bloemfontein.

Michael Mofokeng (45) disappeared on 10 July after being transferred from Bethlehem and later discharged from Pelonomi Tertiary Hospital's Trauma Unit.

Free State Health spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, confirmed Mofokeng was initially admitted to the Trauma Unit at Pelonomi Hospital and was discharged several days later. "After his discharge, Mofokeng was sent to the eye clinic at the Annex with an ambulance. Unfortunately, he disappeared after his patient record file was opened for him," Mvambi said.

Meanwhile, police are also searching for yet another girl who went missing in Fouriesburg. Palesa Eunice Mokete (14) was last seen on Thursday (5/9). It's understood that Mokete told her mother her hat was stolen when she came back from school and as a result, she went back to look for it and never came back.
