“The perpetrator who is a parolee with breach of his parole conditions is remanded in custody until his next court appearance.”

A disgruntled patient who reportedly poured a bucket of faeces over a healthcare worker in the Free State has remained in custody after a case against him was postponed.

The man (38) was arrested after throwing a bucket full of human faeces at an employee at the Thabong Clinic on Friday (26/7) and was released on a warning. He appeared in court on Wednesday (7/8) and his case was postponed to Monday (2/9). The health spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, said he is a parolee with a breach of his parole conditions and will be in custody until his next court appearance.

OFM News previously reported that the alleged perpetrator entered the Thabong Clinic and accused the nurse of failing to provide his medication. He later poured human faeces on the nurse and clinic property, including files, a heater, a kettle, cups, and filing cabinets. The incident was reported to the Thabong police station, where a case of assault and malicious property damage was registered.

The Free State Department of Health strongly condemned the attack. This after Mvambi had explained that the patient had initially visited the clinic the day before the incident but was dissatisfied with the speed of service.

The patient then left the clinic but returned the following day with a bucket of faeces, which he used in his assault. He then posted pictures of the incident on social media platforms, bragging about it and posting images of his violent act.
