Special days at school are lots of fun and very important for the learners. These days create an awareness and an opportunity to experience so many different things about the world around them. They become inquisitive and learn through play and dress-up. It also broadens their imagination and creativity. Social and emotional intelligence is developed, as well as verbal communication.
Fun days include dress up days:
- What I want to be when I am all grown up
- Wildlife in the garden
- Barbie
- Favourite fairytale character
- Countries and different cultures around the world
Outdoor play
Play is one of the best and most effective forms of learning. Through outside play, learners can make sense of the world around them and they develop social and cognitive skills. They grow in confidence and learn important life skills which they can apply daily. Outside play is a fun way for Eunice learners to play creatively and experience the world of make-believe.
The teachers are creative in planning and preparing outside water play and educational learning activities.
Outreach
Eunice supports different charities and encourage their learners to participate by helping others less fortunate than themselves.
Gross motor
At Eunice Pre-Primary, they offer a variety of movement activities throughout the year. They encourage our learners to participate and, in this way, they develop physically and learn many skills needed for big school.
Obstacle courses are great for the learners. It gives them an opportunity to test new skills and understand more about their own physical abilities. Most of the obstacle courses require a lot of movement, which is so hard to achieve these days with modern technology.
In Grade R, Eunice offers ball skills like hockey and netball. During the summer months the learners have class swimming and water safety is a priority.
Afternoon care
Qualified pre-primary teachers and assistants ensure that each child gets the best possible care, love and attention they deserve. Security is a priority and the ongoing goal at afternoon care is to provide a home away from home, giving the children an opportunity to socialise, develop their social skills as well as to develop physical skills on the wide variety of playground equipment available. At afternoon care, they strive to make each child feel happy, safe, loved and accepted, while she is in their care. A mid-afternoon snack is included. Afternoon care is from 13:00 to 17:00.
