Water challenges persist in JB Marks─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:56 Thu, 30 Nov 2023
Residents of the Potchefstroom-based JB Marks Municipality in North West continue to experience water cuts.
Water-shedding has been in place in the Ikageng area of the JB Marks Municipality in North West since Monday due to a mechanical failure at the local water pump station.
A service provider was deployed to the site on Wednesday (29/11).
Municipal spokesperson, Jeanette Tshite, says in a statement it is “imperative to note that load-shedding, scheduled yesterday (29/11) between 18:00 and 22:30, would disrupt pumping and thereby disrupt the supply of water”.
She added water tanks will provide water to all impacted areas, as usual, and maintenance will take place on 30 November 2023 from 00:00.
The municipality has also since apologised to residents affected by these water cuts, particularly residents of the Old Ikageng area.
Those in need of water tankers are advised to call JB Marks Disaster Management Centre at 018-299-5347.
