The Free State farmer has also rewarded workers with land after assistance from the provincial government.
On Friday (10/11), Puleng Molaba-Mofokeng’s life changed when she received a farm and a tractor from the Free State Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development.
Free State premier Mxolisi Dukwana and MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Saki Mokoena, awarded Molaba-Mofokeng the 988-hectare farm near Senekal during the Thabo Mofutsanyana District Social Compact Imbizo held in Phuthaditjhaba.

Molaba-Mofokeng first applied for ownership of the farm in the 1970s. Now, five decades later and finally a farm owner, she is also extending a helping hand to her farm workers by donating a portion of her land. “I gave them 158 hectares from the farm to use.
They have been there for many years and at least now they will have something to leave for their children,” Molaba-Mofokeng.
The farmer, who has been farming with 28 cows, also received cattle and sheep and was lauded for her achievements by Dukwana and Mokoena.
