Firearms stolen from Petrusville police station in Northern Cape | News Article

Firearms have reportedly been stolen from the Petrusville police station.

The Hawks are investigating an incident where firearms were allegedly stolen from Petrusville police station in the Northern Cape.

Messages concerning the stolen firearms have been doing the rounds on social media. In these messages it's alleged four firearms were stolen whilst SAPS members were either intoxicated or sleeping at work on Thursday evening.

It's understood when the officers were supposed to do a handover to colleagues the next morning, the safe was open and several guns as well as ammunition were gone along with the safe key.

Northern Cape Hawks spokesperson, Tebogo Thebe confirmed the investigation, ad added no arrests have been made.
