The Free State MEC was granted bail, together with her two co-accused, in the fraud and corruption case.
The trio, accused of looting R150,000 of taxpayers' money, appeared at the Kroonstad Magistrate’s Court on Friday (13/10).
MEC Motshidisi Koloi appeared alongside chief director at the Department of Human Settlements Vusimuzi Rajuili, and a political advisor to the Matjhabeng Municipality, Serake Leeuw. They were released on bail of between R5,000 and R10,000.
Following their court appearance, they were later transferred to appear at the Special Crimes Court where the matter was postponed to 4 December. Rajuili was a service provider and Leeuw a manager at Koloi’s office whilst she was the mayor around 2017.

The trio were arrested on Thursday (12/10) following allegations of fraud, corruption, money laundering, and contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act.
Hawks spokesperson Zweli Mohobeledi said it is alleged the three suspects conspired to use R150,000 from the Moqhaka Municipality to purchase a sound system for a Nelson Mandela memorial lecture. This event never happened despite the money being used from the municipal bank account.
